  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 lb crispy chickpeas (as an alternative to bacon)
  • 12 slider buns
  • Optional toppings: brie cheese, arugula or baby spinach

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts into slider-sized pieces and marinate in olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook marinated chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through (165°F).
  3. In a saucepan, simmer maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and optional red pepper flakes until thickened.
  4. Cook bacon until crispy; crumble into pieces (or use crispy chickpeas).
  5. Assemble sliders by spreading glaze on buns, adding chicken and bacon (or chickpeas), and topping with optional ingredients before serving warm.
