  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 44 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling
  • 5 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup – 2/3 cup pumpkin butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm buttermilk with melted unsalted butter and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. Add sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and eggs; gradually mix in flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth (5-7 minutes). Place in an oiled bowl to rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. For the filling: blend softened butter with pumpkin butter and spices.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly and roll tightly into a log. Cut into 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Allow rolls to rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes until golden.
  8. Prepare frosting by whisking together ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
